INI-CET 2024: Preparation Strategy

The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) is one of the most prestigious medical entrance exams to help an undergrad sail through his/her career as a Top Doc. INI-CET 2024 is scheduled to take place on 5th November 2023. It is mandatory for the candidates to possess a certificate of completion from a one-year rotatory internship. Those belonging to the General/OBC/EWS category must have obtained a minimum of 55% overall average in MBBS, while those from the SC/ST category must have attained a minimum of 50% average.

There is no set age limit or no. of attempts to appear for INI-CET. However, one can follow the below-mentioned INI-CET 2024 tips and tricks and design a perfect preparation strategy to crack INI-CET on the 1st attempt:

Previous Years’ Question Papers: Master at least the last 3 – 5 years of question papers. Your whole prep depends on the topics that appeared in the previous year’s question papers. The most important topics are asked in a slightly different pattern every time. INI-CET is the best form of standardized test in India for medical students. The examiners want to test your understanding of topics in a way that they ask you details of major topics, for example, they might touch upon the classification in a year, management in another and complications of the same topic in another.

Do not compromise on the fundamentals: Your INI-CET study plan must include acing your basics before moving on to the details. For this, you can go for online learning platforms such as Medicine for UnderGrads to gain guidance from India’s top faculty. You can also find out Qbanks and organise discussion forums with friends to cover information that you haven’t.

Do not indulge in unsolicited knowledge: It might overload you with anxiety about not being able to cover everything. Only cover topics that are recommended by your faculty or the ones that you need more clarity on. Do not waste your time and money on additional resources; consider whatever you have is more than enough.

Time management is essential with mock tests: INI-CET is a time-bound exam, hence you need to prepare an excellent INI-CET Exam strategy. This will help you save some time for mock tests. Since there might be a time crunch, you need to leverage your familiarity with the subject and prioritise subjects accordingly. Do not enter the examination hall without taking up a mock test.

Consider your notes as your bible: The weightage of Pre and Para clinical subjects is heavier than clinical subjects. Focus to master accordingly. Learn the details and gain an in-depth understanding through clinical vignettes to crack the exam. Design and memorize more and more tables, flowcharts and diagrams to structure your understanding.

Focus on Smart Learning: Do short subjects thoroughly and then go for long ones using the previous year’s papers. Later on, go into areas that were not previously asked, for the sake of clarity. Your schedule should revolve around your understanding of subjects rather than the entire syllabus coverage. Design a revision technique through which you can revise all that you have read in the last few days. This will boost your sense of confidence as you enter the exam hall. The question here is: Is it possible to revise everything? No, have topics prepared in your list that you need to revise. These will include the topics that you might forget but are highly valuable in the exam. Take up all the screenshots, and pictures you clicked, bookmarked topics and questions to target your weak areas.

All these preparation strategies will help you crack INI-CET Exam 2024.
